doverOn the first anniversary of the continuing war in Iraq…
Sunday, March 14 - Monday, March 15, 2004
join Iraq Pledge of Resistance and others for a
Dover to D.C. Memorial Procession [walking and bus/van/car caravan].

The Dover to D.C. Memorial Procession is a Trail of Mourning & Truth to honor all those killed and wounded in Iraq, with legal processions to be followed by Nonviolent Civil Disobedience at The White House.

The Bush Administration refuses to acknowledge all those being killed and wounded as a result of war in Iraq. We will not!

In order to acknowledge the true toll of this war, you are invited to participate in the Dover to DC Memorial Procession: a Trail of Mourning & Truth. Starting at the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where the U.S. war dead arrive, we will honor and mourn all the dead, all the casualties of this war - U.S., Iraqis, those from other countries. In mourning and in truth, we will deliver to the nation’s capital our call to end the war and occupation.

Sunday, March 14, 12:30pm -Gather at the Camden Friends Meetinghouse in Camden, DE [near the Dover Air Force Base] for an Inter-Faith Dedication of Mourning & Truth followed by a 3.5 mile walk to the gates of the Dover Air Force Base.

Rides will be provided for those with special needs.

Following a reading of the names of war dead and speakers at the Dover Air Force Base, a bus/van/car caravan will commence to Washington, DC.

There will be a sleepover at a site en-route. Dinner and breakfast provided.

Monday, March 15 - A Day of Mourning & Truth to End the War - 10am - - Gathering and Memorial of Healing at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, DC, current residence of many U.S. servicemen and women wounded in Iraq, followed by the 4.5 mile memorial walk to the White House.

Nonviolent Civil Disobedience at the White House to call on the Bush Administration to end the war and occupation. Those willing to face arrest will engage in nonviolent resistance to the Bush Administration’s policy of lies and war.

Please plan to join us on March 14 and 15, to honor those killed and
wounded in Iraq, and to say NO to the war and occupation.
